These knife stands are made with Shimanto Hinoki, a Japanese Cypress that only grows in Shimanto basin. This lumber has natural resistance to bacteria and mold making it the best choice for kitchenware, traditional bath tubs and stools. Its soft surface prevents damage to the knife keeping the edge last longer.
