Atago Ipponsen Natural Finishing Stone Type 24

Natural finishing stone quarried in Atago mountain in Kyoto prefecture. This stone can be used as final polishing / finishing stone for your knives and carpentry tools.

- Ipponsen = chosen one
- Type 24 means that the original chunk of stone they quarried was cut in to 24 pieces, so the smaller the number bigger the stone.
- These are natural stone, some will have missing corners and chips. If you would like to choose one out of the stock we have please write so in the comment section.
- Bottom side is unfinished. You will need to either flatten it or mount the stone to a wooden base to stablize.

Please follow rules below when using Japanese natural finishing stones

- Never soak in water, it's a splash and go
- Never leave it in a cold location
- If you don't get enough slurry out the stone for your tool, use a nagura stone as a slurry booster
- When you are about to finish do not add more water on the surface. Use the thick slurry only for final finishing
