Very different kind of Japanese plane using HAP40 high speed steel. This steel is made from sand steel from Shimane prefecture.
- Works very good against all kinds of lumber, from soft to hard including laminated woods
- Extremely tough, more than twice the toughness compared to blue steel
- High tempered (550°), you may use grinder to concave grind the front bevel for ease of sharpening.
- Sharpened using standard synthetic waterstones.
