Kanetake brand by Mr. Takahashi is known for their high quality consistency. Where many other makers use grinders to shape up their chisel, the Takahashi family does it by hand with a file. There is a great Japanese book called "Nomitaizen", a "All about Japanese Chisels" book. Kanetake brand chisels are featured in that book, which says a lot.
Japanese chisels do not come fully sharpened and setup, if you would like us to do this process for you it will cost $350 and will take one week.
