Block plane is the basic plane used for shaving any small work that may be hard to work with a smoothing plane. Hida-no-Yugiri are high quality, hand forged planes by 3rd generation Tsunesaburo. This plane’s name, Hida No Yugiri, means evening mist of Hida. These block planes comes in a cardboard box.

The chipbreaker which is the second blade that comes with the plane, breaks the wood fibers immediately after they are cut and reduce tears.
