These limited edition handmade saws are only available from Hida Tool. Each saw was handmade by top class, government certified traditional blacksmith Mitsukawa Juntaro. Each saw has also been given a serial number which is etched into the blade.

The steel for these saws was partially shaped and set aside in 1990 by Mitsukawa Juntaro’s father, the second Mitsukawa. Even years after the initial forging, internal microstructures within the steel undergo subtle changes that improve the durability and integrity of the steel. After twenty years of rest, the saw teeth were hand cut, trued with a shakkiri hammer and sharpened by Mitsukawa Juntaro.
