A Funayuki knife is a traditional Japanese knife which fishermen took with them on their fishing trip.
It is thicker than a standard knife to be able to break down the fish they catch, but thinner than a standard Deba (Fish breaker) Knife to be able to chop and slice the vegetable and meat they brought with them.
A true tradtional Japanese all purpose knife, fully hand forged with white #2 carbon steel, and ground to traditional single bevel.
This is a traditional single bevel knife which requires special sharpening technique. Please keep this knife oiled at all time to prevent from rusting. If you have questions please give us a call.
